Welcome to the "D - R - A - F - T Intellectual Property Policy" website. In Academic Year 2006-2007, at the request of the then Provost Dr. John Convey, the Office of the General Counsel and the Center for Planning and Information Technology  researched and drafted a proposed intellectual property policy to address faculty and staff ownership of new forms of intellectual property being created today at CUA and other universities. These new forms of intellectual property arise from the use of new technologies by faculty. The central issue of who owns such property is not adequately addressed by either existing university policy and practice, or by the legal system.

Questions and comments about the policy should be sent to Peg O'Donnell, Associate General Counsel, at odonnelm@cua.edu
