"Wastewater System Regulation Temporary Act of 1985"

D.C. Code Ann. §§ 8-105.01 to 8-105.14

The Law:  The purpose of the Act is to provide for beneficial public use of the wastewater systems of the District, to prevent the introduction of pollutants, and to improve recycling and reclaim of wastewater and sludge.  The Act makes it illegal to knowingly falsify information under the rules and regulations of the Act or to tamper and misuse the wastewater system.  The Act provides measures for administration and enforcement, including the requirement that all users charged with significant violations be listed yearly in a publication with the largest daily circulation (i.e., the Washington Post).
