Mandatory Use of Seat Belts

D.C. Code Ann. § 50-1802

The Law: The driver and all passengers must wear a seat belt unless a licensed physician has verified that an individual is unable to wear one for medical reasons, or if there are no additional seats available with a seat belt because the car is filled. However, children 16 years old and younger have preference over older children when there is a lack of an adequate number of seat belts.
