"D.C. Air Pollution Control Act of 1984"

D.C. Code Ann. §§ 8-101.01 et seq. ; DCMR Title 20

The Law:

The purpose of the law is to prevent or minimize emissions into the atmosphere, and thus enhance the quality of the the District's air resources so as to do the following:

(a) To promote the public health and welfare and the productive capacity of the
people of the District of Columbia;
(b) To foster their comfort and convenience;
(c) To increase the enjoyment of all of the attractions of the Nation’s Capital;
and
(d) To enhance the environment.

 

This law applies to all operations in the District, including federal operations to the extent permitted by the Clean Air Act.
